Happy New Year and Good News!

We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy, healthy, and peaceful New Year and share the good news we received from Kenya:

Six of our MCC children finished Grade 9 of Junior Secondary School with such great results that they have been admitted to the most prestigious National Schools for Senior Secondary—we are so proud of them! These National Schools have very high entry requirements, are highly respected, and pave the way for further education. And it wasn’t just these six who were outstanding; in general, our Grade 9 students performed very well compared to previous years! Our team found suitable, excellent Senior Secondary Schools for everyone; some even chose the focus areas of our own Academy of Maisha Mazuri (AMM), and we are happy to keep them close to us. All our young people continue to be supported by our team, and we stay in close contact, as the common goal remains for them to lead self-determined and self-financed lives as adults.

Our Grade 12 Senior Secondary class (usually called Form 4)—the students from the Academy of Maisha Mazuri (AMM)—also mastered the national Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams at the end of last year so well that five of our 30 graduates can move on to university for further education. This is a first, and we are all—especially the AMM teachers—proud and grateful that they were able to provide such good, structured preparation and that the students seized their opportunities! Now the search for the right vocational training begins for all our graduates. Our team is working hard to support each and every one of them in the best possible way and to find the right fit for all their strengths and needs. We congratulate all our graduates from the bottom of our hearts!

This shows us that we are on the right track with our mission to prepare children and young people for the future in the best possible way through a solid education.
